ARTIST STATEMENT Colorscape

In her Colorscape Series and Studies, Malu explores the minimalist and subtle qualities of a landscape by painting closely cropped tableaux of the sky, trees, and field. Simply put, she reduces the landscape to basic lines and blocks of color. Her paint colors are blended into each other, evoking an atmospheric feel; and texture is utilized to create interest and movement. This process is both intentional and experimental.
