Collection: Jessica Makin

Jessica Makin is a painter who shows in various venues in the Northeast. She has been included in exhibitions at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, the Providence Art Club, the Mattatuck Museum, and the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey. She graduated Rowan University where she studied painting with Daniel Chard and Carol Taylor-Kearney. Jessica is represented by Carrie Coleman Fine Art, Norfolk, Virginia.

“My work is about paying attention to nature but also about the shifting nature of attention. The paintings are a place to think about seeing, reflecting what is considered and what is ignored. The layered marks are space or surface, material or illusion, considering the threshold of when a line becomes an edge and when color becomes light.”
