This painting is from a new series of work entitled "Walking Each Other Home." Each artwork begins as a magazine collage in my sketchbook created according to a set of self-imposed guidelines. Once I am satisfied with the balance of forces, like mystery and certainty, I paint it fairly large trying to remain as faithful to the original as possible without gridding or measuring much to speak of. Though these pieces may appear merely decorative, they come from a very deep place and, thus far, sales and commissions indicate they appeal especially to women in transition.
