Collection: Wendie Kalafsky
Art had been off Wendie’s radar a long time until a shopping trip with her oldest daughter to purchase art supplies for college enthralled her so much that when she told her book club friends about it, they encouraged her to sign up for painting lessons. That was 16 years ago and she has been painting and studying with respected artists ever since.
Her first medium was watercolor. More recently, she has been painting in oils. Mostly things from nature, though she has enjoyed painting portraits of children. Her work has been displayed at the Virginia School of Art and Gallery, Norfolk Academy, Gallery 1932, Norfolk Botanical Gardens and the Sandler Center.
