I am an artist living and creating in Norfolk, Va. My work is where I meet myself on the canvas and my inner world comes forth.
My primary medium is watercolor on stretched canvas with the occasional acrylic, oil or gauche layered in. The fluidity of the watercolor on canvas is expressive and expansive and allows for large-scale works. I have worked professionally in this medium for 12 years now.
There is a play of structure and softness, light and dark. Balance is a key theme that surfaces through my work. These canvases hold the duality of life and search hard to find balance within the extremes of beauty and pain. And always reflecting my heart and determination to find and grip onto beauty despite pain.
The expression through color, particularly indigo is a mirror of the things in life I hold high. Creativity, Intuition, empathy and renewal. Indigo is seen throughout most of my work and is my north star.
My work can make time stand still for a moment while one takes a deep breath and feel the invitation to explore their own inner world.
